Tatarstan environmentalists strengthened control over of atmospheric air quality during Confederation Cup

Before the Confederations Cup in Kazan, the modernized automatic air pollution control station, located in the Kirov district of the city (Osinovo settlement), was installed. The possibilities of chromatographic analyzes have been expanded for the following parameters: benzene, ethylbenzene, isopropyl, phenol, and styrene. “Now 16 automatic stations for atmospheric air pollution control are installed in the republic,” Farid Abdulganiev, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, said. – This is one of the 4 located in Kazan. The location was not chosen by chance. First, there are large industrial enterprises nearby. Secondly, the residential complex “Salavat Kupere” is under construction here. Our task is to monitor the quality of atmospheric air online. The station is fully automated, the control is continuously carried out by me personally and by specialists, without leaving the offices. Information on the excess of the content of certain substances in the ambient air comes instantly. “The minister also stressed that the decision to strengthen control was taken in preparation for the Confederations Cup in Kazan: “Ensuring environmental safety is our main task”.
The automatic stations for monitoring atmospheric air pollution have been established with the aim of organizing permanent regional environmental monitoring of the environment in the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan. They allow automatic and non-stop monitoring of air pollution in a number of parameters: nitrogen oxide, nitrogen dioxide, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, carbon monoxide, benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylenes, C1-C5 saturated hydrocarbons and unsaturated hydrocarbons (ethene, propene, butenes), paraffin hydrocarbons C6-C10, dust, as well as meteorological parameters (temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind speed and direction), etc.
