Responsibility can not be escaped. Supreme Court of Tatarstan recognized Bugulma-Vodokanal as guilty, leaving unchanged decision of specialists of the Ministry of Ecology

90 thousand RUB will pay Bugulma-Vodokanal LLC for violation of environmental legislation. The final decision on the dispute regarding the involvement of the company in the pollution of the river Stepnoi Zai delivered the Supreme Court of the Republic of Tatarstan. In May this year, specialists from the South-Eastern Territorial Administration of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan together with the Tatar Environmental Protection Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office checked the maximum permissible concentrations of substances in the said water body. Wastewater samples were taken at the inlet and outlet from the plant's treatment facilities, as well as 500 meters above and below the discharge point. The analysis of the selected water samples from the facility showed an excess of ammonia - 102 times, manganese - 18 times, phosphates - 16 times, suspended substances - 7.6 times, iron - 3.3 times, BOD5 - 2,6 times. In the water body itself, an increased content of nitrites, ammonium, BOD5 and manganese was revealed. Environmentalists brought the offenders to administrative responsibility under Article 8.14 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (Violation of the rules for water use in water collection, without water withdrawal and discharge of sewage into water bodies). The enterprise disagreed with the conclusion and has applied to Bugulma city court. The decision rendered in favour of the ecologists decision, also did not satisfy LLC Bugulma-Vodokanal. A special complaint was sent to the Supreme Court of the RT. According to the decision, the enterprise was found guilty and will bear administrative responsibility.
